Scavenger Hunt
Fantasy Appliance: Steampunk/Industrialist
I think the artist's choice to use a steampunk style for this sculpture is interesting because of what it is, a polar bear. I think the artist wanted to do something unexpected and unique and I think they achieved that.
Destroy the Icon: Montage
For this section, I found a puzzle in Antiques on Howard. The artist made a montage of popular people, movies, cars, etc. and made a puzzle out of it. The designer overlapped a lot of the imagery so that each element interacts with another.
Personal Artifact: Narrative
This designer incorporated a quilt into her installation. Quilt making was common in the 17th century and it has a deep historical and cultural history which is why I consider it an artifact. The artist made the quilt for words and sentences to be projected onto. They created a narrative through this projection about gender inequality in the arts.
Surreal Photobomb: Surrealism
This painting is definitely surreal. The color and swirling forms create a surrealist effect. The artist created what looks like a fantasy world.
