Project 1: Fantasy Appliance

I started by looking at different types of phones. I decided to choose the phone with the most detail because I thought it would make the drawing look more realistic.

                   



Then, I did a few sketches of the different types of phones and ideas for a background.

After deciding what phone I wanted to depict, I drew the phone and the Earth in Illustrator. I drew the Earth to be part of the background of the drawing.

I then redrew the phone because I wanted the phone receiver to be a separate piece.

For my final, I combined the two elements, the phone and the Earth, and made the background look like space.

The final drawing is meant to symbolize the issues with communication around the world. I depicted this by having the mouth piece of the phone connected to the Earth and the ear piece away from the Earth in space. This is meant to show that everyone talks but few listen which is a big problem in every area of life whether it be in friendships, relationships, politics, or anything else.
