Final - Gillian Brown

For my final project, I wanted to incorporate my best friends. They have done so much for me and I want to show my appreciation. When picking pictures I tried to find ones that described them in the best way. I also picked colors that fit their rooms so this picture would be perfect hanging in their rooms. I love focusing on color for my artworks, and picking their favorite colors is the best way. I also wanted something that was incorporated in all of my pieces to tie them all together. I decided to work with marble pictures and use them in different ways in every picture. I first idea was to make these pieces very similar but I struggled because I wanted to describe them the way they are and my four girls are all totally different people. My mentor was my mom because she knows these girls in my life so well. She helped with the marble idea and color selection that showed their personality. 

Gabby: Gabby is my photogenic friend and it was hard picking one picture to focus on. She is my artsy friend and is always changing the styles and colors in her room. I kept some of the elements from the original photo (the yellow lights and purple circles). 

Valeria- Val is my girlie friend who loves fashion. She is very simple and love pastel colors. Her room is mostly white and pale pink with lots of plants, so I picked this picture of her at a flower field. This work is very simple and I feel like this describes Val the best way with the colors and editing. 

Alex: Alex is a very trendy and adventurous friend. I wanted her piece to be simple but have a rustic look to it. Her room to me is like a farmhouse style with clean colors. I brightened her clothes to show her trendy side. But she also loves to be outside camping/ hiking. 

Breanna- Bre is my opposite best friend. We are so different but get along so well. She wears lots of dark colors and her room is space/ mysterious. I picked the vibrant green background because it’s her favorite color and she lives space, the marble reminded me of stars/galaxy. I made Bre’s work really bright and different and it will fit perfectly on her wall.
