Personal Artifact

 The Polaroid:

When I look back at artifacts, the first one that comes to mind always is my families old polaroid camera. My Grandmother didn't have a lot of pictures of her as a kid, so in turn of those events, she took as many pictures and videos as she could with her cameras. The old solid Grey Polaroid camera caught many memories of my childhood. Even some I was unaware of.

Sadly we don't have that beautiful camera anymore. But, I still remember not just what it looked like, but often times how well those pictures came out, and how well aged they were when they were placed in storage. But, luckily, we kept pictures in separate bins based on years, so finding polaroid pictures was actually easy. Especially since my family now scans and posts pictures all the time.

Concept/Message:
Turning back the clock to a time in my life I forget. Each image from then is more than just a memory, it was a reminder of a fun time with family as a child that is often forgotten in place of tragedy, sadness, and other negative emotions. They say you should never forget where you come from, and that phrase also means the good times too.
