What We Become
What We Become
by: Autumn Jackson
Step 1
I began by looking at references of potential appliances, I was stuck between a box TV that looks like it came out of the 20's and an old fashioned radio. Eventually I settled on the TV because I decided I wanted to represent a bigger message about how TV's have been a big part of peoples lives throughout the ages.
Step 2
The first sketch and drawing of my idea (and the only one): I wanted to take an appliance most people use everyday and symbolize how it has taken over a part of our lives and how for some people it becomes a part of us personality wise.
Step 3
After transferring my sketch into illustrator I began to outline it and focus on bringing my appliance to life in my drawing. Using a old-fashioned box TV surrounded by flatscreens and an iPhone I tried to create a sense of nostalgia for the viewer who might've grown up with this old-fashioned style of TV but now uses these forms of more modern devices.
Step 4 Final
The finished product of my Idea
