Project #2 -Destroy the Icon

For my icon I originally chose Travis Scott and then I decided to make it a series of rappers and how living like a celebrity can affect your life. I decided to choose Travis Scott, Kanye West, Drake and Kendrick Lamar. All of these rappers are hugely successful and have been doing it for a long time. I wanted consistency throughout all four of the pieces therefore I decided to blur parts of their faces, have a white border and all from magazine covers.

I started with this but didn't feel like it was manipulated enough. I then decided to scratch the whole thing and get a new picture.

I chose this photo from a GQ shoot.

I started manipulating the photo but still was unsure of it.

This is my final for Travis Scott poster. Then I moved on to Kanye West. This is my inspiration from W Magazine.

My final for Kanye West. I drew happy and sad faces over Kanye's face because he suffers from bi-polar disorder.

My next icon was Drake. This was a magazine cover for Fader.

Next was Kendrick Lamar. I had a hard time coming up with a concept for his design.
