Project 1: Kristin Barta

my original idea was based on the exercise we did in class of drawing any everyday appliance from memory. Once we found out the assignment details I decided to stick with a hairdryer.

I started with a rough initial sketch just to get my ideas on paper.

Next, I did more refined sketches on the iPad using procreate.

after this step, I was able to import the sketches to illustrator and trace over them with the pen tool for just plat flat shapes (with some added glow (and bleed)). 

Finally, I added all the small details. I had trouble with making sure the values don't blend into one another too much. 

The final product isn't quite what I wanted or originally pictured, I would have liked the clouds to have been a bit more whispy and swirling around the moon and dryer. I think the overall image is kinda plain but I included all the elements I'd wanted.
