DESTROY THE ICON
My original idea was Grace Jones but I couldn't brainstorm any good concepts to incorporate. I then somehow landed on the characters from Forrest Gump after going through a list of favorite celebrities in my head.
I created 1 image for this concept but wasn't happy with it and was stumped when it came to creating a new image, especially because most snapshots from the movie aren't very high quality.
I decided to go back to square 1 and create my images based on Grace Jones. I feel like her photographs are much more dynamic - from the poses to colors to the facial gestures which made editing more fun.
I played a lot with the blending modes, image styles, and textures throughout my images. Though I could have pushed and manipulated my work more, I chose to keep pretty simple backgrounds so the images would become too busy.

I had a really difficult time using Photoshop and didn't see any results using it that I couldn't replicate in other programs. I think I will continue to stick to illustrator for the majority of my work but this was a great learning experience.
